A lot of software is free, good software that sometimes is even better than the expensive alternatives. The idea which Top Free Software is developed from is to promote these good free alternatives. Why pay money for or pirate something when something even better is available for free, if you just take the time to look?
Tech
Based on WordPress, a free CMS system originally intended for blogging and a slightly modified theme called Atahualpa by Bytesforall. Extended with plug-ins for statistics, ads, rating etc. Hosted on US servers rented through a hosting company called Manufrog.

A cookie is a small text-file that is created by a webserver and stored on your computer. Every time you visit the server that gave you the cookie, it’s sent back to the server. This makes it possible to save your settings, comments and keep you logged in on forums and web sites.
